The senior goalie was outstanding in the Sea Kings’ 12-3 victory over No. 4 Santa Margarita on Saturday, recording 10 saves. On the season, Ortlieb has 20 saves in four games and is averaging four goals scored against for the top-ranked Sea Kings (4-0 overall, 3-0 in the Pacific Coast League).
“Michael was a big key to Saturday’s win,” said Coach G.W. Mix. “He played extremely well in the cage, making big saves when we needed them, but he also did a terrific job igniting our clearing game.”
