Playing at No. 1 singles for Sunny Hills, Mahan went a perfect 6-0 on the week. He began with a perfect sweep against Sonora, winning all three sets at love. He followed that performance with an upset victory over Troy’s No. 1 singles player Caryl Hernandez, 6-2, on Thursday. Mahan also won his other two sets against Troy, 6-3 and 6-1. Mahan had lost to Hernandez, 2-6, in their first meeting this season.
