ANAHEIM – Filipo Pangia’s 17-yard touchdown run and Victor Pina’s third straight PAT carried Magnolia to a 21-20 Orange League victory over Century on Thursday at Glover Stadium.

Pangia, a 195-pound senior, rushed for 194 yards on 13 carries.

The Sentinels (3-6, 1-3) and Centurions (3-6, 1-3) were tied, 14-14, at halftime.

Magnolia received the second-half kickoff and went 73 yards on three plays for the go-ahead touchdown.

Sophomore quarterback Raymond Perez connected with sophomore wide receiver Damien Rosales for 23 yards. Pangia followed with a 23-yard run to the 17 and scored on the next play.

Century responded with a 68-yard touchdown march on seven plays on the next possession.

On third-and-9 from the Magnolia 49, Juan Augustin broke loose on an inside reverse for a 10-yard gain.

Quarterback Adrian Martinez found tight end Mike Soria wide open downfield for a 31-yard gain to the 7. On second down, Jimmy Gutierrez sprinted around left end to the flag to score on a 6-yard run.

Augustin’s two PATs in the first half had gone squarely between the uprights, but his third with 6:54 left in the third was barely wide left.

Magnolia’s defense took care of the rest of the victory. It didn’t allow Century into Magnolia territory on its final five possessions.

Kalolo Pangia scored on a 2-yard run on the final play of the first quarter and Pina’s kick put Magnolia on top 7-0.

Century’s Francisco Hernandez recovered a blocked punt in the end zone and Augustin’s kick tied it, 7-7, midway through the second period.

Magnolia regained the lead, 14-7, on Brandon Morales’ 23-yard touchdown pass from Perez.

Gutierrez ran 3 yards for a touchdown and Augustin’s kick with 1:14 in the second quarter tied the score, 14-14.
