He rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries to lead the Lions to a 24-7 win over Ocean View in the game that decided the Golden West League championship. Maciel, a 5-foot-9 and 190-pound senior, also kicked a field goal that gave Westminster the lead for good in the second quarter. For the season, Maciel has rushed for 873 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has 39 successful extra-point kicks and three field goals. The second-seeded Lions play host to Anaheim in a Southern Division playoff game Friday.
