Crean Lutheran is swamped
CLAREMONT Crean Lutheran South struggled out of the gate and never could develop any momentum, losing at Webb School, 65-0, Friday afternoon in a nonleague matchup.
The Saints (0-4) got off to a rough start, failing to score on any of their seven first-half possessions.
Conversely, Webb’s offense marched up and down the field at will, scoring on all nine of its possessions in the game.
Webb (3-3) opened the first quarter strong, scoring on a 66-yard touchdown run by Akbar Khan on its first play. The Gauls followed that with a score on the first play of their next possession, this time on a 28-yard run by Khan.
The rushing attack of Webb was dominant. The Gauls had 11 players combine for an impressive 453 yards and six touchdowns.
Although Webb did not have to go to the air very often, quarterback Jacob Rode was able to find the end zone in third quarter, connecting for a 9-yard touchdown with senior Thomas Wray.
Crean Lutheran South will continue to look for their first victory next week at Rock Academy while Webb will look to carry their momentum into next week’s game against Viewpoint at home.
