The senior opposite hitter was selected as MVP of the Beach Cities Invitational this weekend in La Jolla. Long, who has committed to UCLA, tallied 31 kills, nine solo blocks and seven aces in the semifinals and finals of the tournament. Beckman finished second in the tournament to Buchanan of Clovis. Long started the week with a 33-kill performance against Long Beach Poly in a five-match victory for the Patriots.
