Several hotly contested league races in girls water polo will be settled this week, the final stretch of the regular season.

Here are two of the games to watch:

No. 3 Orange Lutheran at No. 2 Mater Dei, Tuesday, 6 p.m. The Monarchs (20-5, 3-0) and Lancers (21-4, 3-0) face off for the Trinity League title. Last season, Orange Lutheran defeated Mater Dei, 13-8, en route to its second consecutive league crown and first CIF-SS Division 1 title.

No. 5 Los Alamitos at No. 8 Newport Harbor, Wednesday, 5 p.m. The Griffins (19-8, 4-0) and Sailors (13-10, 4-0) square off for the Sunset League title.

Defending champion Los Alamitos is coming off a strong seventh-place finish at the Irvine Southern California Championships. The Griffins edged Foothill, 5-4, in the seventh-place game. Los Alamitos lost twice to Foothill earlier in the season.

“The girls played with heart all weekend,” Los Alamitos coach Dave Carlson said.

Newport Harbor withdrew from the SoCal tournament because it had overbooked its schedule. …

Dana Hills senior Sydney Baba scored five goals in a 15-8 victory against Trabuco Hills last week to break the 100-goal plateau for the second consecutive season.

The senior has netted 104 goals in 27 games and has 357 goals for her four-year varsity career. She scored 135 goals as a junior.

Her older sister, Madison Baba, netted 308 goals for Dana Hills during her four-year varsity career.

The sisters have tallied a combined 665 goals for the Dolphins.

BOYS SOCCER

Edgar Canela and Santiago Gonzalez each scored a goal, and Juan Berumen finished with a pair of saves to help Santa Ana clinch its fourth consecutive Golden West League title with a 2-1 victory against Segerstrom on Friday.

The Saints bring a 10-game league unbeaten streak into its season-finale at Westminster on Wednesday. During that span, Santa Ana has posted three shutouts, outscored its opponents, 25-7, and had 11 players score a goal.

Canela leads the team with seven goals in league, followed by Cesar Zamora, who has knocked in five.

GIRLS WRESTLING

Qualifying for the CIF-SS Girls Individual Championships took place Saturday.

Segerstrom’s Emily Peraza (101), Santa Ana’s Yesenia Bustos (116), Godinez’s Jacqueline Alcantara (126) and Samantha Salas (160), University’s Lorena Egea (137), Tustin’s Jazmin Segura (150) and Cypress’ Yajaira Valencia (235) won individual titles.

The top eight in each weight class advaned CIF-SS Individual Championships at Roosevelt High of Eastvale on Feb. 10-11. From there, the top eight move on to the CIF State tournament.
