Garden Grove League champion Rancho Alamitos is home against La Salle, the No. 2 team from the Del Rey League, in Friday’s first round. The winner of that game might play top-seeded Redondo Union in the second round; Redondo plays a first-round home game Friday against the winner of Wednesday’s Palmdale-Hacienda Heights Wilson wild-card game.
An Orange County vs. Orange County first-round game is in this division. Orange, the No. 2 team from the Golden West League, plays Pacific Coast League No. 2 Beckman on Friday. Beckman has been in the county top 10 for much of the season.
Ocean View has had an interesting season. The Seahawks went 12-3 in the Golden West League, to win the league championship, and went 2-9 in nonleague games.
