SUNSET LEAGUE (WEST VALLEY DIVISION)
At stake: The league’s top three teams are guaranteed a playoff spot in the West Valley Division playoffs. The division has two at-large berths available. No Sunset League team earned an at-large berth in 2014.
Edison (7-3, 5-0): The Chargers finished the season with a perfect clip in league, and heads into the playoffs as the Sunset League’s top representative.
Fountain Valley (7-3, 4-1): The Barons knocked off Huntington Beach to secure the league’s No. 2 playoff spot.
Los Alamitos (5-5, 3-2): The Griffins grabbed the final guaranteed playoff berth with a lopsided win over Marina on Friday.
Newport Harbor (4-6, 2-3): Hard to imagine the Sailors receiving an at-large berth with teams like San Juan Hills and El Toro seeking the same bids.
Huntington Beach (3-7, 1-4): The Oilers are not playoff contenders.
Marina (1-9, 0-5): The Vikings are not playoff contenders.
