With a share of the Crestivew League title at stake, Jill Jenkin slugged a two-run home run to help lift No. 6 Canyon to a 3-1 victory over visiting Yorba Linda on Saturday morning.
The Comanches (20-7, 4-2) finished the regular season tied with the Mustangs (16-7, 4-2) and El Modena (19-8, 4-2) for first place. Based on tiebreakers, Canyon will go to the playoffs as the league’s No. 1 representative, and the Mustangs received the league’s other guaranteed playoff spot.
For the Vanguards to get into the playoffs, they’ll need to receive an at-large bid. The playoff pairings will be released Monday afternoon.
In the Trinity League:
The scheduled game between Orange Lutheran and Santa Margarita was canceled.
The Trinity League’s three playoff representatives will be Mater Dei, Orange Lutheran and Santa Margarita, and Mater Dei will be recognized as the league champion.
