FIRST TEAM

Sawyer Koelsch

Huntington Beach, Forward, Jr.

The Sunset League Offensive MVP finished the season as the team’s top points scorer (11 goals, four assists). Helped the Oilers to the best season in school history.

Lauren Miller

Aliso Niguel, Forward, Sr.

Miller was the most menacing striker in the Wolverine’s feared frontline, netting had a team-high 12 goals and five assists. In Sarah Roberts’ absence, Miller elevated her play, scoring six goals in the team’s final seven matches.

Danielle Solaru

Northwood, Forward, Jr.

The striker finished with 18 goals and 11 assists and was the Pacific Coast League MVP. Most impressive was her play – 11 goals, seven assists – during Northwood’s final 10 matches, including the postseason.

Lauren Markwith

Mater Dei, Midfielder, Jr.

Markwith led one of the most devastating offensive attacks in the Southern Section, and was crucial in Mater Dei’s championship run. The Monarchs junior captain finished with 14 goals and 16 assists, and tallied points in four of the team’s five CIF playoff outings. She earned Trinity League Offensive MVP honors.

Abby Greubel

Foothill, Midfielder, Fr.

Greubel was selected Crestview League MVP and All-CIF after netting 18 goals and tallying 24 assists. The top collegiate programs throughout the country are already clamoring for the talented freshman.

Sarah Roberts

Aliso Niguel, Midfielder, Sr.

Her illustrious high school career came to an end in early February because of a torn meniscus and MCL injury. Despite missing Aliso’s final four matches of the season, Roberts was selected South Coast League MVP. She signed with Ohio State.

Darcy Weiser

Huntington Beach, Midfielder, Jr.

Few players created as many scoring chances as the Sunset League’s MVP. Whether it was long throw-ins, corners or free kicks, the junior did it all while helping the Oilers win their first league title.

Rafaella Bucur

Laguna Hills, Defender, Sr.

She led one of the strongest central defenses in the county, which carried Laguna Hills to its first CIF-SS championship appearance. The Hawks conceded just 13 goals in 27 matches. Bucur was recognized the Sea View League MVP and an All-CIF selection.

Jorden Christensen

Santa Margarita, Defender, Sr.

She earned Trinity League Defensive MVP after holding down a back line that helped Santa Margarita win its sixth straight league crown. She was an All-CIF selection.

Taylor Rasmussen

Canyon, Defender, Jr.

Not only was she one of the stingiest central defenders in the county, but she consistently delivered one of the most accurate balls on set pieces. The first-team All-CIF selection served up nine assists, seven of which led to winning goals for Canyon.

Kate Hart

Huntington Beach, Goalkeeper, Sr.

The Oilers didn’t lose a game in regulation, in large part because their senior captain only allowed six goals. The San Diego State signee showed her versatility in a second-round playoff matchup against Upland, turning in a clean sheet after 80 minutes before scoring the winning goal in overtime.
