OCVarsity’s Kenny Connolly takes a final look at each league race through the Week 10 games on Friday night. He breaks down the winners of the league title and playoff spots, and how the other teams fared.

SUNSET LEAGUE (WEST VALLEY DIVISION)

At stake: Top three teams in league are guaranteed a playoff spot in the West Valley Division. Two at-large berths are available.

Los Alamitos (9-1, 5-0): The Griffins claimed their first Sunset League title since 2010 with a 35-14 win over Edison on Thursday.

Edison (7-3, 4-1): A loss to Los Alamitos on Thursday night means the Chargers will enter the West Valley Division playoffs as the Sunset League’s No. 2 representative.

Newport Harbor (5-5, 3-2): The Sailors beat Fountain Valley, 34-33, on Friday night. Newport Harbor clinched the league’s third guaranteed playoff spot in the process.

Huntington Beach (3-7, 2-3): The Oilers topped Marina, 63-14, on Friday night, but a Newport Harbor win over Fountain Valley keeps Huntington Beach on the outside looking in. Hard to imagine a three-win Oiler team earning an at-large bid in a deep West Valley Division.

Fountain Valley (5-5, 1-4): A 34-33 loss to Newport Harbor will keep the Barons out of a deep West Valley Division playoff picture.

Marina (0-9, 0-4): The Vikings are not playoff contenders.
