Boys basketball playoffs: Division 5A county breakdown

Capistrano Valley Christian: The Eagles (22-4) finished second, behind Saddleback Valley Christian, in the San Joaquin League. They play host to Thacher in the first round. Peter Abramsky is averaging 16 points a game for CVC.
Orangewood Academy: The Spartans (11-14) finished fifth in the six-team San Joaquin League and qualified as an at-large team. they play another county school, Tarbut V'Torah, in the first round Wednesday.
Tarbut V'Torah: The Lions (11-4 overall) won the Express League championship with a 9-1 league record. They play host to Orangewood Academy in the first round Wednesday.
