LAGUNA HILLS – Capistrano Valley used a quick-strike aerial attack and forced four turnovers in the second quarter that led to a scoring binge en route to its first Sea View League victory, 51-14, over Laguna Hills on Friday night.

Leading 7-0 after the first quarter, the Cougars (6-2, 1-1) used a 34-point barrage in the second quarter to put the contest away, the highlight a 76-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Jim Grasso to make the score 28-0.

Laguna Hills faced a 21-point deficit but finally had a decent drive after a 38-yard run by Trevor Garcia got the Hawks in Capo Valley territory. On the next play, Laguna Hills fumbled and Grasso scooped up the loose ball and followed teammates to the end zone.

The host Hawks (1-6, 0-2) have lost six consecutive games after winning their season opener.

Gavin Pruett passed for 260 yards and five touchdowns, with most of the damage done in the first half. Sam Wilson took most of the snaps in the second half.

Trevor Wise had 86 receiving yards and a pair of scores while Adam Gordon had nine catches for 101 yards and one touchdown.
