OCVarsity girls golf preview for 2015:

TOP O.C. PLAYERS TO WATCH

Grace Ferrell, Newport Harbor, Sr.: She was a 12-time medalist and the Sunset League MVP last season.

Madie Chou, Foothill, Sr.: She placed in the top five in two AJGA tournaments this summer, tying for second in the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior at Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills.

Brittany Park, Valencia, Jr.: She shot an even-par 72 at Arrowhead Country Club during the WSCGA So Cal Championship. Park posted a 73.7 scoring average during the CIF-SS postseason tournaments.

Alyaa Abdulgahny, Corona del Mar, Jr.: She is seventh in the nation in the Golfweek junior girls Sagarin rankings after finishing tied for seventh in the Junior PGA Championship last month.

Beth Lillie, Troy, Jr.: She qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open in July where she posted rounds of 77 and 75 at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pa.

Cameron Lee, Beckman, Jr.: She tied for second in the AJGA Target Junior Championship at Rush Creek Golf Club, in Maple Grove, Minn., on Aug. 27, finishing one shot behind the leader.

Emma Kang, Tesoro, Sr.: She posted an even-par 71 at Dad Miller Golf Course to tie for 11th in the CIF-SS Southern Individual Regional.

Felicia Chang, Troy: She won the Killington Junior Golf Championship AJGA tournament in Killington, Vt., by one stroke.

Joan Soewondo, Dana Hills, Jr.: The returning All-County first-team player recently posted a 2-under-par 34 on the back nine at El Niguel Country Club, the Dolphins’ home course.

Ellen Takada, University, Sr.: She teamed with Abdulghany to reach the semifinals of the inaugural USGA Womem’s Amateur Four-Ball tournament in Bandon, Ore., in May.
