Corona del Mar sophomore Alyaa Adulghany and Foothill junior Madie Chou have both been selected to the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Team by the AJGA. which recognizes the top 12-15-year-old boys and girls in the world.

Selection was based on the AJGA Polo national rankings, and to be eligible players had to have participated in at least one Gary Gilchrist All-Star Series event during the 2104 season. 

Chou and Abdulghany, who are among the 10 boys and 10 girls on the team, will be honored on Oct. 11 at the Junior All-Star Invitational in North Plains, Ore.

Abdulghany, who medaled in the Sea Kings’ victory against Aliso Niguel on Wednesday, is ranked 39th in the Polo rankings. Abdulghany, 15, opened her season with a career-best second-place finish in the AJGA Junior at River Ridge and then posted two consecutive third-place finishes at the Junior All-Star at Cypress Ridge and the AJGA Junior at Cattail Creek

Chou, who is now 16, won three AJGA events this season, moving her up to 30th in the Polo rankings. She has posted the low score for the Knights in the first two matches of the girls high school golf season, giving her a 36.5 nine-hole scoring average.
