Jubas enters this week undefeated on the court for the Lions. This is her first year at TVT after transferring from Edison, where she earned first- and second-team All-Sunset League honors. She was varsity captain last year at Edison and team MVP her sophomore and junior seasons. Jubas is recognized by the College Board as an AP Scholar, and her classes include AP English, AP physics, AP government, AP calculus, two Jewish studies classes and an American Sign Language course at Saddleback College. Jubas participates in the Friendship Circle of Orange County, an organization that pairs local teens with special needs children for weekly visits. Jubas was an intern last year at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Long Beach. She represented the U.S. in tennis at the World Maccabiah Games in Israel (2013) and at the Pan-American Maccabiah Games in Brazil (2012). She is Tarbut V’Torah’s first Merit Scholar. Jubas plans to continue her tennis career at Washington University in St. Louis, where she will study pre-medicine.
