Jim Hartigan’s contract as JSerra football coach has been extended through the 2019-20 school year, the school announced today.

Hartigan has been JSerra’s football coach since 2007. He was the Register’s Orange County football coach of the year in 2014.

JSerra was 7-3 overall in 2015 and finished in a three-way tie for third place in the Trinity League with a 2-3 league record. A series of coin flips kept JSerra out of the playoffs.

The Lions finished ’15 strong with back-to-back wins over Mater Dei and Orange Lutheran in the final two weeks of the season. JSerra has defeated Mater Dei and Orange Lutheran two years in a row.

Hartigan previously was head coach at Santa Margarita, which won two CIF-Southern Section championships during his tenure, and at Clovis West.
