Scouting report: The Jaguars are a senior-heavy team that returns 17 starters and has plenty of game-changing talent on offense. Chris Ferman, who was injured most of last season, could emerge as one of the top running backs in the county. He runs a 4.59 40-yard dash and can power clean 285 pounds. Abel Diaz, Gus Tinajero and George Ortega will also line up at running back, and all three rushed for more than 300 yards last season. They will work behind an offensive line that features Daniel Plascencia at tackle. The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder is being recruited by several colleges, Maceranka said. The Jaguars have plenty of muscle on defense too, as starting defensive tackle Christian Rodriguez set a school record by squatting 535 pounds.
Bottom line: The Jaguars are loaded with talent, skill and stength, and they might be one of the best teams in the league.
