In the Pacific Coast League:
Beckman 6, Irvine 5: Emily Simonian drove to the weak side and scored on a cross pass by Lily Aguirre-Murray with 54 seconds left in the fourth period to lift the visiting Patriots (7-6, 1-0) at Woollett Aquatics Center.
Beckman’s Madison Marsh scored two of her game-high three goals in the third period, and Simonian’s twin sister, Madeline, added 11 saves.
In nonleague:
Marina 9, Woodbridge 7: Freshman Shanna Zuanich had three goals and three assists, and Maddie Camargo added two goals to lead the visiting Vikings (10-1). Jilly Hamilton netted five goals for Woodbridge.
Villa Park 11, Esperanza 7: Lyndsy Peterson scored six goals to lead the visiting Spartans (7-8).
La Habra 8, Long Beach Millikan 7: Natasha Velez scored on a backhanded shot from center with 1:20 left to lift the visiting Highlanders.
