JSerra hires new coach
Michael Hutnick is named the school's new boys lacrosse coach.
JSerra selected Michael Hutnick as its new boys lacrosse coach, the school announced.
Hutnick started at JSerra as the defensive coordinator for the boys' lacrosse in 2006. JSerra has enjoyed considerable success since Hutnick joined the program, including a winning record of 17-6 in 2008 and playoff appearances in each of the team's first two varsity seasons.
"Hutnick is a young and upcoming talented lacrosse coach who is well-respected by both his players and their parents. He will surely be a great asset to JSerra lacrosse," said JSerra Athletic Director Jim Hartigan.
Prior to coaching at JSerra, Hutnick was a co-director at the Southern New Hampshire University All-Star Lacrosse Camp. As a player, Hutnick was team captain for the Southern New Hampshire University men's lacrosse team during his sophomore, junior, and senior years and was selected as an All-American lacrosse player during his senior year in 2006.
While at Pinkerton Academy for high school, Hutnick played on the varsity lacrosse team all four years.
"I have greatly enjoyed watching the program grow and develop over the last two years," said Hutnick. "With an extremely talented group and a heightened excitement for the season, I am looking forward to a very successful year."
