Howard threw herself into the Orange County history books on Friday at the CIF Masters Meet. In shot put, she recorded two throws of 50 feet or more, becoming just the fourth girl in county history to do that. Her best throw was 50 feet, 2 1/2 inches, good for third all time in the county. She also recorded a personal best of 147-01 in the discus. Howard qualified for the CIF State Meet in both events.
