Chad Nelson scored the game-winner with 1:31 left in the fourth period Thursday to cap El Toro’s rally for a 13-12 victory at Dana Hills in a critical South Coast League boys water polo match.

Defending champion Dana Hills led, 10-6, in the middle of the third period but El Toro (16-7, 5-0 closed the game with a 7-2 run to take control of the Division 1 league.

The Dolphins slipped tp 13-12 overall, 3-2 in league, which ties them for second place with Aliso Niguel.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Corona del Mar 7, Beckman 5: Evan Kim and Baylor Reynoso each scored twice and Matt Tran made 10 saves as the visiting Patriots (4-3 in league) pushed the defending champion Sea Kings (15-4, 7-0) for four periods. Will Rodosky and Henry Wilde each scored twice for CdM, playing this weekend at the Memorial Cup in Northern California.

In the Sea View League:

San Juan Hills 9, Tesoro 7: Brett McClain and Ciaran Patrick each scored three goals and Andrew Mansoor made 13 saves as the host Stallions (3-2 in league) moved within one game of the first-place Titans (4-1 in league).
