O.C. DUAL MEET PRESEASON TOP 10

1. Laguna Hills, 109 points (6 first-place votes): The Hawks again are the team to beat in the county. Last season they extended their consecutive league title streak to 26consecutive. Sights are set on No.27.

2. Calvary Chapel, 107 (3 first-place votes): Senior Aaron Negrette leads what should be an impressive lineup with the addition of transfers Josh Sowma and Michael Rangel.

3. Servite, 91 (2 first-place votes): The Friars are aiming for that No. 1 spot, facing Calvary Chapel and Laguna Hills in the first two weeks of the season.

4. San Clemente, 84: The Tritons will look to build off last season’s South Coast League dual title. Mike Marshall will be one of those leading the charge.

5. Yorba Linda, 60: The Mustangs had a memorable year winning league, CIF dual and CIF team championships. It will be interesting to see what this year has in store.

6. El Modena, 57 (1 first-place vote): Look for the trio of seniors Nick Kuchta, Andre Dahl and Fernando Aguilar to have the Vanguards in the mix all year.

7. Santa Ana, 52: The Saints always are a hard-working bunch. That shouldn’t change. State qualifier Gil Gutierrez is one to watch.

8. Fountain Valley, 45: The junior duo of Andrew Morgan and Steel Escobedo and senior Bryant Vasquez gives the Barons a good starting point in the always tough Sunset League.

9. Trabuco Hills, 15: The Mustangs advanced to the semifinals of the CIF-SS Division 6 duals. They’re ranked fifth in the preseason poll.

10. El Dorado, 12: It is never an easy night taking on the Golden Hawks. Two-time state qualifier Gino Roman is one to keep an eye on.

Others: Valencia 7; Irvine 6; Cypress 4; Dana Hills 3; Troy 3; Villa Park 2; Westminster 1.
