Dana Hills used its advantage in doubles to take down Santa Margarita, 13-5, on Friday in a CIF-SS Division 1 second-round match at Santa Margarita.

The Dolphins won eight of nine doubles sets and took advantage of an Eagles team not at full strength. Santa Margarita was missing No. 1 singles player Alexandra Krogius.

Dana Hills’ top singles player, Margo Pletcher, won a pivotal match against Eagles freshman Katie Chang, who had not lost a set since Sept. 17.

Dana Hills will face University on Monday in the quarterfinals.

In other Division 1 matches:

Los Alamitos 11, Harvard-Westlake of Studio City 7: The visiting Griffins (12-2) knocked off the Wolverines (14-3) to advance to play Peninsula, the top-ranked team in Division 1. Peninsula handed Los Alamitos one of its two losses in the regular season.

Corona del Mar 10, Brentwood 8: The visiting Sea Kings (18-3) swept in doubles to knock off the Eagles (12-4). CdM plays Santa Barbara (14-3) on Monday. The Sea Kings beat the Dons during the regular season.

Mira Costa of Manhattan Beach 10, Northwood 8: The Timberwolves (14-5) battled back after falling behind, 5-1, but lost to the visiting Mustangs (18-3).

In Division 2:

Troy 12, Yorba Linda 6: Brittanie Eraso and Emily Wang each swept in singles for the Warriors (17-1-1) in their victory over the visiting Mustangs (18-4).

Canyon 10, Valencia of Valencia 8: The second-seeded Comanches (18-0) went on the road and avenged a loss to the Vikings (16-5) in last year’s playoffs.
