O.C. Boys Preseason Top 10

1. Trabuco Hills: The Mustangs feature one of the top runners in the state and a deep, talented veteran returning core that figures to take them far.

2. Dana Hills: Three-time defending state champions will have to replace some firepower, but return their top two runners from last year’s state meet and should once again be right in the state title mix in 2010.

3. El Toro: The Chargers lost their top two runners from a season ago, but return five other runners that helped them finish fifth at the Division 1 state meet.

4. Marina: The Vikings return a talented team from last season that will make them the favorite to repeat as Sunset League champions and earn a trip to the state meet.

5. Servite: The top Division 3 county finisher at the state meet, the Friars return five of their top seven runners.

6-10. Valencia, Esperanza, Brea Olinda, Woodbridge, Capistrano Valley

O.C. Girls Preseason Top 10

1. Dana Hills: Led by senior and 2009 county runner of the year Alaina Alvarez and a host of talented runners, the Dolphins are heavy state title favorites.

2. San Clemente: The Tritons have finished third in the state in both 2008 and 2009 and return enough talent to improve upon that.

3. Canyon: After a sixth place Division 2 finish a season ago, the Comanches return six runners and will be among the favorites to win the title in 2010.

4. Foothill: Adding sophomore transfer Jacquie Adams should help the Knights compete amongst the county’s best.

5. Orange Lutheran: Despite losing two of their top five runners from last season’s Division 3 runner-up team, the Lancers will still be quite formidable.

6-10. Trabuco Hills; Corona del Mar; Northwood; Woodbridge; Tesoro
