Mater Dei’s Katie Lou Samuelson has been selected the 2015 WBCA High School Player of the Year, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced today.

The 6-foot-3 senior forward is averaging 29.3 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game and 2.4 steals per game. She has signed with Connecticut.

“Congratulations to Katie Lou for earning the top award for high school basketball players,” said WBCA executive director Danielle Donehew. “Katie Lou has set the bar for current and future high school student-athletes across the country with her determination and excellence on the court, and her grace off of it.”

Mater Dei’s Andee Velasco received WBCA High School All-America honorable mention.
