Jim Bohn confirmed Monday evening that after four seasons coaching La Habra High’s girls basketball team, he has resigned for personal reasons.

“There are some family issues that I have to direct my attention to right now,” Bohn explained. “It was a tough decision. We have a great varsity class returning next season. It’s tough to leave them, but I know that our coaching staff over the years has really improved the program.

“I’m sure the next person that comes in will pick up where we left things off.”

Bohn compiled a 64-43 record in his four seasons at La Habra. The Highlanders went 15-11 this past year and finished second in the Freeway League (8-2) behind only Troy.

La Habra qualified for the playoffs in each of Bohn’s four seasons at the helm. With eight returning varsity players slated to be on the roster next season, the Highlanders should be a competitive bunch yet again.

No interim coach has been named at this time.
