IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Segerstrom. The Jaguars increased their victory total from one in 2006 to five in 2007. With 14 returning starters, that trend appears to have a great chance to continue. The Jaguars appear to be emerging as the team to challenge Westminster’s reign as league champion.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Saddleback. Coach Jim O’Connell will lead a Roadrunners squad looking for any positive signs after an 0-10 season. Unfortunately, with only three returning starters and new players at many of the skill positions, those signs might be few and far between.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Aaron Garbutt
Westminster WR/DB/Punt Returner/Kick Returner
The league's reigning MVP enjoyed a highly successful junior campaign. He had 35 receptions for 817 yards and 10 touchdowns, and was a standout defensive back to help the Lions capture the league title. (Watch Aaron Garbutt highlight video)

MARK YOUR CALENDAR

Westminster is the league’s reigning power, but Segerstrom believes it can capture the crown, and this game will be the Jaguars' opportunity to prove that.

TOUGHEST SCHEDULE

Westminster
The Lions' nonleague schedule includes 2007 Southeast Division champion La Habra, along with playoff teams Santa Ana Valley and Garden Grove.
