SANTA ANA – Moby Contreras rushed for 202 yards and scored three touchdowns and quarterback Luis Casas ran for 169 yards and two touchdowns as Los Amigos pounded Godinez, 31-8, in a nonleague game Friday night at Segerstrom High.

Godinez (0-2) could not stop the two-headed rushing attack led by a pair of seniors.

“It’s definitely a threat … we’re known for running power and being physical,” Los Amigos coach Carl Agnew said.

Contreras, a running back, turned in his longest run of the night on an 81-yard burst that extended the lead to 25-8 midway through the third quarter.

Casas rushed for 131 yards and scored both of his TDs in the first half.

Godinez junior QB Michael Rodriguez scored his team’s only touchdown on a 2-yard run in the first quarter. The point-after attempt missed.

Godinez took its only lead of the night thanks to a Los Amigos miscue. With just more than 3 minutes to play in the first quarter, Los Amigos was lined up to punt from the Godinez 42-yard line, but a botched snap left punter Brian Ayala kicking the ball from the ground out of the back of his own end zone for a safety that put Godinez ahead, 8-7.

The Lobos (1-0) scored the game’s first TD on Casas’ 5-yard run in the first quarter.
