CAITLIN DERRY
Los Alamitos, Sr., Midfield
Derry finished third on the Griffins in points with 84. She scored 44 goals and assisted on 40 scores to help Los Alamitos collect its sixth consecutive county and section crowns.
CLAIRE DUCHENE
Beckman, Jr., Goalie
Duchene posted 169 saves, allowed 7.2 goals per game and posted three shutouts to spur the Patriots’ run to the county title game.
HALEY FESSENDEN
Los Alamitos, Sr., Midfield
Versatility was key for the Griffins, and Fessenden, much like Derry, provided it for her team. She had her hand in 86 goals, putting in 55 of them herself, while setting up her teammates with assists on 31.
GRACE HOUSER
Mater Dei, Fr., Midfield
Houser, a freshman, led the Monarchs with 41 goals to help them reach the quarterfinals of the county playoffs. She also aided her team by winning 52 draws.
KACIE KLINE
Corona del Mar, Sr., Attack
Kline is making her second consecutive first-team all-county appearance. Kline was a senior leader on a young Corona del Mar team that reached the county semifinals. She scored 80 goals and recorded 26 assists.
DOMINIQUE LONEY
Los Alamitos, Jr., Defense
The Griffins surrendered just 6.6 goals per game in their outstanding postseason run. Loney’s defense contributed to that low output. For the season, she forced 20 turnovers, while collecting 28 ground balls.
MARY MORIMOTO
Los Alamitos, Sr., Defense
Like Loney, Morimoto helped the Griffins keep opponents off the scoreboard. She snatched up 22 ground balls, won 10 draws and caused nine turnovers.
SHEA O’DONNELL
Beckman, Jr., Midfield
The Patriots had one of the better offenses in the county, and O’Donnell was a key contributor with 62 goals and eight assists. She also helped her team gain valuable possessions with 62 ground balls.
JENELLE PHILLIPS
Trabuco Hills, Jr., Attack
The Mustangs surprised some observers by winning the South Coast League this season. One of the main characters of that title run was Phillips, who scored 79 goals, recorded 12 assists and 23 ground balls.
GRACE SCHMIDT-BECK
Los Alamitos, Sr., Attack
Schmidt-Beck was voted player of the year by the county’s coaches. She saved her best performances for the championship games. She scored a combined 10 goals in the Griffins’ county and section title game victories. Schmidt-Beck totaled 82 goals this season.
LUNA TSUJIMOTO
Beckman, Sr., Defense
Tsujimoto led the Patriots by a wide margin in ground balls with 82, which gave the ball to Beckman’s high-scoring offense that scored 10.5 goals per game and helped the team gain a share of the Pacific Coast League title. She also scored 26 goals.
