PLAYER OF THE YEAR

COACH OF THE YEAR
Jon Fox
Foothill
FIRST TEAM
Warren Case
Foothill, Sr., Midfield
Case was essentially the point guard for the Knights’ high-powered offense. He set up teammates for scoring opportunities to the tune of 50 assists. He could score some, too, as he recorded 44 goals.
Hoyt Crance
Corona del Mar, Jr., Goalie
Injuries took a toll on the Sea Kings’ offense this season, which required the team’s defense to be strong. Crance provided stout goalkeeping with 116 saves and a save percentage of 67. Crance averaged 6.8 saves per game.
Hugh Crance
Corona del Mar, Jr., Defense
Hoyt’s fraternal twin brother, Hugh, manned the defense as well. Hugh forced 28 turnovers and snatched up 29 ground balls to help the Sea Kings reach the semifinals.
Peyton Garrett
San Clemente, Sr., Midfield
The Tritons won a South Coast League championship and reached the semifinals, and on the way there, they received 37 goals, 27 assists and 58 groundballs from Garrett.
Owen Geiss
Foothill, Sr., Defense
Geiss was a key cog on a Foothill defense, which allowed just 7.5 goals per game. The senior was second on the team with 51 ground balls. He was also second on the squad with 21 takeaways.
Brett Greenlee
Corona del Mar, Jr., Long-stick midfielder
Greenlee was an integral part of the Sea Kings’ defense, as he picked up 19 ground balls. The Denver commit also forced opponents to turn the ball over 28 times.
Tucker Guyot
JSerra, Sr., Defense
Guyot is making a repeat appearance on the All-County first team. He was the cornerstone of a Lions defense that allowed just 7.75 goals a game in the playoffs, and helped JSerra reach the county title game.
Mitch Kingsley
JSerra, Sr., Attack
Whenever the Lions needed someone to make a play offensively, it usually went to Kingsley. In JSerra’s first two playoff games, Kingsley totaled six goals and six assists. Kingsley followed that with six goals in the county semifinals and finals combined.
Jonah Rinaldi
Aliso Niguel, Jr., Attack
The junior did a bit of everything for the Wolverines. He posted 106 points on 62 goals and 44 assists. He also picked up 39 ground balls. Rinaldi’s efforts helped Aliso Niguel claim a Sea View League championship.
Hayden Ruiz
Santa Margarita, Sr., Midfield
The Eagles reversed their 7-12 record from 2013 into a 12-7 record this season. Santa Margarita was able to turn things around and reach the quarterfinals of the county playoffs thanks to Ruiz’s 41 goals and 44 assists.
Jason Simaan
Corona del Mar, So., Faceoff specialist
Out of 256 faceoff opportunities, Simaan won 200 of them for the Sea Kings, which is roughly 78 percent. Gaining possession was big for a Corona del Mar team that liked to control the clock.
