PLAYER OF THE YEAR
MACKENZIE CERDA
Edison, Forward, Sr.
COACH OF THE YEAR
CHUCK MORALES
Santa Margarita
FIRST TEAM
DOMINIQUE BOND-FLASZA
Aliso Niguel, Forward, Sr.
Bond-Flasza makes her second appearance on the All-County first team. She was an integral part in helping the Wolverines win their first league title since 2009 with 12 goals and six assists.
SARAH FAJNOR
Sunny Hills, Forward, Sr.
Fajnor was the Lancers’ heart and soul, and she stepped up to lead her team with 18 goals. Her play late in the season was extraordinary as she scored five goals in her team’s final five games.
NIKKI FARIS
San Clemente, Forward, Sr.
It’s a sign of a great player when the other team game plans for you and still can’t contain you. Such was the case for Faris, who was one of the most explosive offensive players in the county. She scored three postseason goals in the Tritons’ run to the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinals.
KASSIDY GORMAN
Santa Margarita, Forward, Sr.
It was nearly impossible to look at a box score and not see Gorman’s name in the goals section during the CIF-SS playoffs. Gorman, who was the Trinity League offensive MVP, scored five times in Santa Margarita’s CIF-SS and regional postseason games.
TAYLOR KLAWUNDER
Santa Margarita, Midfielder, Sr.
Klawunder was named MVP of the Trinity League, and her presence on the field helped the Eagles claim their first CIF-SS title since 2002. She scored a goal in the Division 1 title game and two in CIF regional play.
MARIBELL MORALES
Sunny Hills, Midfielder, Sr.
A mix of scoring and playmaking lands Morales another first-team All-County appearance. She scored 17 goals and recorded 28 assists to help the Lancers earn their fourth consecutive Freeway League title and an Aliso Cup championship.
SARAH ROBERTS
Aliso Niguel, Midfielder, Jr.
Roberts is back on the All-County first team after she also made it as a freshman. She helped facilitate on offense with 14 assists, while adding eight goals. She was exceptional setting up her teammates on set pieces this year, as well.
ALY MOON
Brea Olinda, Defender, Sr.
Moon compiled 10 goals and 10 assists, and eight of those goals and four of the assists came in Century League play. She was the stalwart on a stifling Wildcats defense and helped Brea Olinda claim a share of a league championship.
ASHLEY PETERMAN
Foothill, Defender, Sr.
Foothill earned a share of its first league championship since 1991, and a lot of the credit for that goes to a stingy defense that didn’t allow many opportunities. Peterman was the main cog of that defense, which guided the Knights to the Division 1 semifinals.
JENNA REEVES
Villa Park, Defender, Sr.
Opposing offenses were in trouble whenever they faced Villa Park. Reeves caused havoc for other teams with her ferociousness on the back line. Villa Park reached the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinals.
AMANDA POERTNER
Sunny Hills, Goalkeeper, Jr.
Lancers coach Jeff Gordon said his team’s defense was a question mark for him entering the season. Poertner eased her coach’s doubts with a stellar season, as she posted 25 shutouts, allowed only eight goals and was named Aliso Cup MVP.
