Scouting report: The Eagles return 14 starters from a team that advanced to the CIF-SS Southern Division playoffs. This year, the Eagles will have a new quarterback Patrick Glasgow. The good thing for Glasgow is that he has senior wide receiver Joey Cox (965 yards, 10 touchdowns) in the mix. Running back Braden Stack (478 all-purpose yards) and wide receiver Luke Thompson (333 yards) should help Glasgow in his development. Coach Chris Cox believes his team has the ingredients to compete for one of the league’s guaranteed playoff spots. The Eagles’ depth will be a concern, as it is for many teams, but the lack of a true league favorite gives Cox optimism that his team will be a factor once league play rolls around.
