Dana Hills’ girls water polo team won one-goal games in the quarterfinals and semifinals en route to a runner-up finish at the Benson Cup at El Dorado on Saturday.
The Dolphins (5-1) edged fellow Division 2 contender Mira Costa, 5-4, in the quarterfinals and clipped Division 3 member Villa Park, 9-8, to reach their first Benson Cup final.
Dana Hills fell in the finals to defending champion and San Diego powerhouse La Jolla, 16-3. La Jolla was the Open Division runner-up in San Diego last season to The Bishop’s.
