If Yorba Linda wins its CIF State Regional playoff game this week against St. Anthony of Long Beach, Yorba Linda would host a state championship game.
Yorba Linda coach Jeff Bailey was informed by CIF State officials Monday that whichever team wins the South Regionals Division 4-A game, which is the Yorba Linda-St. Anthony game, would be the host team against the winner of the North Regionals 4-A game, Milipitas vs. Pleasant Valley of Chico.

Yorba Linda is 8-1 in games at on-campus Shapell Stadium. Shapell’s seating capacity is around 4,000.
State championship games in Divisions 1-AA, 1-A, 2-AA, 2-A and Open Division will be played Dec. 16 and 17 at Sacramento State. Games in Divisions 3-AA, 3-A, 4-AA, 4-A, 5-AA, 5-A, 6-AA and 6-A will be played on Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. at sites selected by host schools. Those sites would have to meet CIF State office approval.
First, though, Yorba Linda has to play St. Anthony on Saturday at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach at 7:30 p.m. St. Anthony, CIF-Southern Section Division 10 champion, is averaging 50 points a game.
Also Saturday, San Clemente and Edison play in the South Regionals 1-A game at Huntington Beach High at 7:30 p.m. The San Clemente-Edison winner plays in the CIF State championship game at Sacramento State on Dec. 17 at 4 p.m., against the winner of the North Regionals 1-A game, Bakersfield vs. Del Oro of Loomis. Bakersfield-Del Oro will be played Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
