O.C. TOP 10

(Records through Sunday)

1. Mater Dei (21-1)

After games against Santa Margarita and Orange Lutheran, the Monarchs close the week out in the Nike Extravaganza against Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas.

2. Brea Olinda (19-2)

Friday’s showdown with El Dorado figures to be one of the week’s top matchups. The Ladycats took the first meeting, 59-48.

3. Troy (15-8)

The Warriors’ five-game winning streak came to an end Saturday with a six-point nonleague loss to Redondo Union.

4. JSerra (16-6)

The winner of Tuesday’s JSerra-Orange Lutheran game becomes the favorite to finish second in the Trinity League behind Mater Dei.

5. El Dorado (17-6)

Jaylin Jones, Brooke Salas and Miranda Martinez all scored in double figures in both of the Golden Hawks’ wins last week.

6. Foothill (18-4)

The Knights responded to a 20-point loss to Brea with an 18-point win over Esperanza on Friday.

7. Orange Lutheran (16-6)

Senior Brooke Huto scored a season-high 20 points in a win over Rosary. If she can maintain that form, the Lancers will pose a serious threat Tuesday against JSerra.

8. Orangewood Academy (19-3)

The Spartans are in the midst of a seven-game winning streak and are in sole possession of first place in the San Joaquin League after beating Fairmont Prep.

9. Fairmont Prep (15-4)

The Huskies’ 46-41 loss to Orangewood Academy on Saturday was the first league game the team has dropped in exactly two years.

10. Los Alamitos (17-5)

The Griffins will lock up at least a share of the Sunset League title with wins over Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley this week.
