OCVarsity’s season preview for 2016:
FULLERTON INDIANS
Coaches: Ed De Avila and Gus Martinez
Last season: 4-6 overall, 0-5 league
Scouting report: The Indians closed the 2015 season on a five-game losing skid that left them out of the playoffs. Fullerton is younger this year, and questions remain at the quarterback position. Sophomore Gavin Klepper and junior Adam Ritter both figure to see playing time. Offensive tackle James Magee is one of the league’s best offensive linemen, and Cris Schroer is a standout at linebacker. The vast majority of this roster is unproven. Development from week to week will be critical for a program that always has talent. It might take some time to see that come to fruition.
Bottom line: There are more question marks than usual to start the season. With so little starting experience, Fullerton faces an uphill battle to get back to the postseason.
