First-team All-County safety Johnny Johnson of Mater Dei, Penn-bound defensive lineman/tight end Louis Vecchio of Villa Park and All-CIF quarterback Scott Lloyd of Fullerton highlight the North roster selections for the Brea Lions Orange County North-South All-Star Football Game.
The 55th edition of the game will be played July10 at Orange Coast College at 7:15p.m.
North co-coaches Gus Martinez and Ed De Avila of Fullerton announced their 36-player roster on Friday.
Johnson and running back Justin Allen are the two selections from Mater Dei. Both were first-team All-Trinity League.
Vecchio is among three selections from Villa Park. The Century lineman of the year will be joined by cornerback Derrick Kendrick and quarterback Dylan Osborne.
Fullerton, a Southwest Division semifinalist last season, leads the North with four selections. The Indians also placed All-CIF picks Deryck Fletcher (defensive back), Cody Takkinen (offensive line) and tight end/linebacker/defensive end Matt Hall on the North team.
The North selections also include first-team All-Trinity running back Nick Lopiccola of Servite and Garden Grove League MVP Sione Masoe of the Argonauts.
Coach Eric Lo of Huntington Beach will announce his South roster in the coming weeks. The South has won the game a record-tying five straight years.
A recognition dinner for the North and South players is scheduled for May29 at Astor Classics Events Center in Anaheim. The Orange County player of the year also will be announced during the dinner.
