Senior Matt Wilson posted a 2-under-par 214 at the Golf Club at Terra Lago while Brandon Brame and Kyle Kinnane each added a 5-over 221 to help the Friars win the Champions Invitational for the second year in a row in Indio.
The Friars edged Great Oak of Temecula by two strokes in the 54-hole tournament. Dana Hills tied for sixth with a 908.
Collin Morikawa of La Canada won the individual championship with a tournament-record 19-under 197. He opened the tournament with an 11-under-par 61 and added a 66 and a 70. Dana Hills’ Clay Feagler finished second 14-strokes behind, shooting a 5-under 211. Wilson placed fifth.
