Canyon’s Aleeah Gould (106), Kennedy’s Miyuki Pugrad (126), Valencia’s Gabby Garcia (126) and Magnolia’s Arlene Hernandez (150) advanced to the semifinals at their respective weights at the CIF State Tournament in Visalia.

Gould won her first match fall and her second by decision to advance.

At 126, both Pugrad and Garcia won their matches by fall. Pugrad, the top seed will face Jenna Garcia of Notre Dame in the semifinals.

Garcia will face a familiar opponent in Santa Monica’s Maddy Tung. Tung defeated Garcia by fall in the semifinals of the CIF Championships earlier this month.

Hernandez defeated Jimena Sarmiento to advance to the semifinals.

Casandra Para (Santa Ana) and Diana Hernandez (Godinez) are in the consolation bracket at 121 pounds.

Mater Dei’s Julie Calzada (137), Tustin’s Jasmine Cordero (143), Buena Park’s Adrianna Escobedo (143), Aliso Niguel’s Bree Tate-Johnson (170) and Magnolia’s Janeet Garcilazo (189) are also in the consolation bracket.
