GAME OF THE DAY
Fountain Valley 10, Newport Harbor 7 (9 innings)
The Barons trailed by four four runs entering the seventh inning, but put together an epic comeback to pull out the victory in the Sunset League game at Newport Harbor on Friday.
After the Barons scored four runs in the seventh to tie, Riley Hanson slugged a three-run home run to give Fountain Valley the 10-7 victory.
Fountain Valley improved to 12-6 overall and 3-4 in league. Newport Harbor is 7-10, 2-5.
For the Sailors, Jake Genova (2 for 3, two RBI), and Sean Korkmaz (three RBI) each hit a home run.
In other Sunset games:
Edison 4, Los Alamitos 3: The Chargers’ also pulled off a dramatic victory, as Kyler Arenado singled in the seventh to drive in the winning run over the visiting Griffins.
The Chargers also beat Los Alamitos, 8-3, on Wednesday.
