Johnny Beltran (Servite) finishes 3rd at 182. Aaron Negrette (Calvary Chapel) takes fourth at 160.

Gino Roman (El Dorado, 145) and Andrew Morgan (Fountain Valley, 152) takes 7th.

Russell Rohlfing (Sonora, 120) finishes 8th.

12:25 p.m.

Beltran wins. He’s going for 3rd

12:19 p.m.

Takedown, 3pt near fall for Beltran. 5-0 lead after 1st pd. Beltran up 6-3 in the 2nd period.

12:14 p.m.

Johnny Beltran v. Alec Gamboa of Madera. Winner goes for 3rd. Loser for 5th. This No. 3 v. 4 in the state.

12:10 p.m.

He didn’t OT, but Negrette (Calvary Chapel) has advanced to the third-place match with a 3-2 victory over Hokit. Negrette will face Alex Graves of San Marcos.

Noon

The OT Warrior Aaron Negrette (Calvary Chapel) is headed back out. He has Josh Hokit of Clovis. The winner goes for 3rd. The loser for 5th. Negrette has won 2 consecutive matches in OT.

11:50 a.m.

Andrew Morgan (Fountain Valley) is going for 7th.

11:36 a.m.

Russell Rohlfing (Sonora) is going for 7th.

Aaron Negrette (Calvary Chapel) just pulled off another OT victory, this 7-2 over Bryan Salinas. Negrette is still in the mix for third at 160.

Gino Roman (El Dorado) lost and is going for 7th.

Johnny Beltran (Servite) lost his semifinals match at 182 and will try to fight back for third.With that loss, that means no county wrestlers will be in tonight’s finals.

Also, not sure if I mentioned it earlier, Capistrano Valley’s Phillip O’Shea lost his consolation match. He’s out.

10:04 a.m.

OH BOY!!! Both wrestlers survive the 1-minute OT.

1st 30 second OT – Negrette on top.

2nd 30 second OT – Garcia on top.

Still tied.

Negrette back on top. Negrette pulls it off 5-4 to stay in it!. What a match.

10:01 a.m.

Garcia is down for injury time in the third period. He’s still up 3-0. Garcia is up. restart on top. less than a minute. reversal Negrette. Escape 4-2. Takedown Negrette. 4-4. OT!

10:00 a.m.

3-0 Garcia going to the third period. Both wrestlers have been hit with stalling warnings

9:55 a.m.

Aaron Negrette (Calvary Chapel) against Freddie Garcia of Santiago. Garcia defeated Negrette last week at Masters. This is No. 4 vs. No. 2 in the state.

1st takedown to Garcia.

9:48 a.m.

At 152, Andrew Morgan (Fountain Valley) is in top 8. He just defeated Ricky Padilla of Northview, 4-2.

9:45 a.m.

Escape for Roman. Fry potential takedown is disputed. No call. Now stalling warning on Roman. less than a minute left.

Takedown Roman. 7-5. Late takedown for Roman. 9-5. He’s going to medal.

9:43 a.m.

4-4 to start the third period.

Meanwhile, Andrew Morgan v. Ricky Padilla of Northview is starting soon.

9:41 a.m.

2-2 early 2nd. Takedown Roman. Locking hands call on Roman. 4-3 Roman in the 2nd.

Gino Roman (El Dorado) coming up next. He’s facing Hayden Fry of Vacavilly, ranked 7th in the state.

9:20 a.m.

Russell Rohlfing (Sonora) up next against Anthony Wesley of Jesuit. Wesley ranked 11th in the state.

1st takedown to Wesley. At 3-3, Rohlfing gets takedown, 3-pt near fall for 8-3 lead going into the third. Rohlfing wins 12-4 to secure himself a spot in the top 8.

9:09 a.m.

1st up, Michael Rangel against Joey Cisneros of Redwood. Cisneros is ranked fourth in the state. Tough way to open the day.

1st takedown to Cisneros. 2-1 Cisneros after 2. Cisneros wins 8-1. Rangel is eliminated.

8:37 a.m.

And we’re back for day 2 here at the Rabobank Arena.

I’m not sure if I even left last night.

Wrestling begins at 9 a.m. with the consolation round. Those wrestlers must win to get into the top 8.
