TUSTIN – Foothill scored 19 consecutive points to propel the Knights to a 31-14 win over El Dorado on Friday at Tustin High.

Foothill dominated the second half. It held the Golden Hawks to just 68 yards of offense in the half.

“I told the guys to stay disciplined and stay focused. All these games are tough, they are never going to hand it to you,” Foothill coach Doug Case said.

Knights quarterback Bobby Garcia completed 17 of 23 pass attempts for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The senior also rushed for 134 yards on 10 attempts.

Garcia found David Lopez in the end zone to give Foothill a 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

On the ensuing series, Foothill defender Andrew Robles tackled the punter for a 15-yard loss after he bobbled the ball. Garcia later scored on a 9-yard run to give the Knights a 12-0 lead.

El Dorado (2-4) answered with a 34-yard touchdown run by Robert Arroyo to cut the lead to 12-7.

The Golden Hawks scored through the air on their next possession. Quarterback Jack Strouse found a wide-open Garrett Seiler in the end zone to give El Dorado a 14-12 lead.

Foothill (5-1) took the lead for good when Garcia threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Blake Toll to put the Knights ahead 18-14 at halftime.
