BECKMAN vs. FOOTHILL

When: Wednesday, 5:30 p.m.

Where: Tustin HS

Previous meetings: Foothill won 8-3 (March 14) and 8-7 (March 24

Outlook: The teams have met twice this season with Foothill winning both, first in the Sun Surf & Stix Tournament (8-3 on March 14) and 10 days later in a nonleague game (8-7). The Knights led wire-to-wire against Los Alamitos in the semifinal, eventually winning 15-7. The Knights had five players score at least two goals, led by Meridian Lee with four. The Knights led 10-2 at halftime. Beckman trailed 10-6 at halftime, but were able to regroup after halftime, scoring four consecutive goals to tie the score at 10-10. The Patriots would take the lead for good with 12:09 left on a goal from Kylie Filipek. Janice Shih and Lauren Nguyen led the Patriots with three goals. If the first two contests were close, then it should be safe to assume that this one will be as well. This is shaping up to be a very good battle between the goalies with Claire Duchene (Beckman) and Hannah Upshaw (Foothill) on the field.
