Mater Dei, Edison, Corona del Mar, Newport Harbor and San Clemente won their pools on the first day of the Best of the West Invitational.
Huntington Beach and Servite finished second.
The top two from each pool will compete in the Gold Division playoffs at Epic Volleyball Club (13955 Stowe Dr., Poway, CA 92064).
