Sage Hill has hired Abram Booty as its football coach, the school announced Friday.

Booty’s previous coaching experience was in Louisiana. His brothers are former NFL quarterbacks Josh and John David Booty, who also played at USC.

Booty replaces Tom Kirchmeyer, who coached the team in 2014 on an interim basis. Kirchmeyer had replaced J.R. Tolver when Tolver resigned in August.

Sage Hill was 3-7 overall and 0-4 in the Academy League last season.

CHANGE AT GODINEZ

Aron Kaye will no longer coach the Godinez football team, school athletic director Greg Coombs confirmed Friday.

“We want to go in a different direction,” Coombs said.

The Grizzlies went 0-10 overall and 0-5 in the Orange Coast League last season.

“It was an administrative decision,” said Kaye, who was 23-50 in eight years at Godinez. “I do want to thank the Grizzly football family for eight wonderful years.”
