GARDEN GROVE – With second place in the Garden Grove League at stake, Cross Faletoi made sure Rancho Alamitos got a victory on Senior Night as he scored four touchdowns in a 28-14 win over Los Amigos on Friday night at Bolsa Grande High.

Faletoi scored all four of the Vaqueros’ touchdowns and finished with 107 yards receiving.

The Vaqueros (6-4, 3-2) trailed by a touchdown early before scoring 21 consecutive points.

Steven Hernandez opened the scoring for the Lobos (6-4, 3-2), ending a nine-play, 67-yard drive by punching it in from the 1.

The Vaqueros got on the board in the second quarter thanks to an alert defense as they recovered a fumble. On the next play, Blake Culbert connected with Faletoi for a 30-yard TD catch to make it 7-7.

Faletoi struck again as he took a direct snap and reversed the field for a 10-yard scoring run to make it 14-7.

Culbert then found Faletoi for a 43-yard touchdown pass to give the Vaqueros a 21-7 lead.

Los Amigos got a interception by Joseph Vera that led to a touchdown by Isaiah Potts on a 2-yard keeper to bring the Lobos within 21-14 after three quarters.

But the Vaqueros responded with a six-minute drive that ended with another Faletoi TD to put the game out of reach.

The fate of Rancho Alamitos, Los Amigos and La Quinta will be determined via coin flip to see if any teams get an at-large Division 8 playoff berth.
