Los Al's Evans has 6 TD passes in blowout

LOS ANGELES – Line play largely dominated Los Alamitos' 48-0 victory over Fremont, as the Griffins (2-0) held the Pathfinders (1-2) to 6 rushing yards and recorded five sacks, three by Mike Collins.

But the fireworks came from Los Alamitos quarterback Clark Evans, who reached the end zone early and often, notching the Griffins' first score on their first drive with a 7-yard pass to Nick Castaneda.

Evans was 9 for 17 passing with 160 yards and six touchdowns and ran for a touchdown. He rushed for a game-high 66 yards.

On Los Alamitos' second drive, Evans tossed a 13-yard scoring strike to Darryl Jenkins, and then followed up with a score of his own, 3-yard TD run on the Griffins' third drive. Evans added two more scoring passes before halftime, highlighted by a 65-yard bomb to Jenkins.

The Fremont defense played hard enough in the second half to slow down Los Alamitos, but Evans still directed two more scoring drives, throwing 15-yard touchdowns to Jon Cheri and to Jenkins. , who finished the night with a game-high four receptions for 115 yards.
