Sometimes domination isn't just about winning but how teams win. Laguna Beach girls water polo coach Ethan Damato recently raised that point when reviewing the Breakers' improved play this past season that led to an undefeated campaign.
The Breakers went 31-0 but also won games by significant margins.
Now, Santa Margarita's girls swim team is taking its shot at domination. The top-ranked Eagles qualified first in six of the seven events for Saturday night's Millikan Southern Section Relays finals in Los Alamitos.
The only event that the reigning Division 1 champions aren't seeded first in is the 200-yard butterfly, and they're second to Long Beach Poly by about two tenths of a second. It could be an interesting night Saturday at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Al.
